I first started making jewellery about 10 years ago for myself, then a friend asked me to make her something similiar, it was much admired on her journey half way round the world. Visiting Venice regularly I then started buying glass beads from Murano, which were rare then and featuring them in my jewellery. The optical quality of glass has always fascinatinated me and their use gold and silver leaf in their beauitiful coloured beads was inspiring. I came across natural stone beads in america and started incorporating them into my neacklaces. I found an almost a primeval connection with making jewellery from beautiful beads. I will often thinking of a person's colouring and start with that as a palette. Each piece of jewellery is completely unique and idiosyncratic.
